Just like the rest of the world, the U.S. is in the midst of battling the coronavirus pandemic. On Monday, Ivanka Trump posted a video thanking the heroic Americans out on the frontline hard at work in keeping the nation functioning.
Ivanka Trump expressed her gratitude to everyone who likely sacrificed their weekend just to keep the nation up and running. She also expressed hope and optimism that the country will become “stronger than ever before” once the pandemic is dealt with.
“It’s Monday morning here in D.C. as we wake up to this brave new world,” Ivanka said in a video she posted on Twitter. “For those who are self-isolating and self-quarantining and following the CDC guidelines, we thank you as your weekend blends into your weekday.”
Ivanka then went on to thank out on the frontline in the country’s war against the COVID-19. “For our heroic first responders, health-care professionals and the front line in this effort to keep our nation functioning, our grocers and our truckers who are ensuring our strong food supply, we thank you and we send our collective prayers for your safety and thoughts and gratitude your way,” the senior White House advisor said in the video.
The first daughter said the Americans are united in the fight against the pandemic. “We’re all in this together,” Ivanka added. “We’ll emerge from this stronger than ever before and maybe more deeply and profoundly connected with our own humanity and our core values. So I wish you a good beginning to the week. Let’s do everything we can to stop the spread, and let’s remember that we are all united in this together.”
The United States is now the third country with the most number of confirmed coronavirus cases. More than 46,000 are already infected with COVID-19 in the nation, based data from Woldometers.
Only two other countries have a higher number of confirmed infections than the U.S. At the top spot is China with more than 81,000 people reported to have contracted the virus. At the second spot is Italy, where 63,000 are infected with the pathogen.
